Kanji and reading notations ―漢字と読み方の表記について
Japanese Kanji can be read in two ways.
日本語の漢字には、二通りの読み方があります。
The reading system based on the sounds of Chinese characters is called ‘on-yomi’, while the unique Japanese reading system is called ‘kun-yomi’.
中国語の漢字の音を元にした読み方を「音読み」、日本語独自の読み方を「訓読み」と言います。
It is usual to use Katakana for the on-yomi and Hiragana for the kun-yomi.
音読みはカタカナで表記し、訓読みはひらがなで表記するのが通例です。
On this website, too, the on-yomi of Kanji are written in Katakana and the kun-yomi in Hiragana.
このサイトでも漢字の音読みはカタカナで、訓読みはひらがなで表記します。
The font used is BIZ UDPMincho Medium.
The shape of the Kanji may differ slightly from the font in the textbook, but this is a difference in font and not a mistake.
使用フォントは「BIZ UDPMincho Medium」です。
教科書のフォントと漢字の形が少し違うことがありますが、フォントの違いであって間違いではありません。
In the original exercises and stroke order charts, where the form differs too much from the textbook font, this has been corrected either by using a different font or by handwriting, as appropriate.
オリジナルの練習と書き順表では、教科書のフォントと形があまりに異なる場合は適宜別のフォントの使用か手書きによって修正しています。

The name of 々 ― 「々」の名前
Do you know the name of the Kanji 々?
According to the dictionary definition, it is 同の字点（どうのじてん） or ノマ.
The reason it is called ノマ is because this Kanji resembles the combined form of the Katakana characters ノ and マ.
Many Japanese people don’t know this, so you may be proud to know it.
みなさんは、漢字の「々」の名前を知っていますか。
辞書の定義では「同の字点」または「ノマ」となっています。
「ノマ」と言うのは、この漢字がカタカナの「ノ」と「マ」を組み合わせた形に似ているからです。
日本人でも知らない人が多いので、知っているとちょっと自慢できるかもしれません。
